Most of us think about "starting a diet" from time to time, so we want quick results - maybe that 5 or 10 pounds we lose because we attend our class reunion. However, if you really want to be healthy and lose weight permanently, you have to find a diet plan that will support you for the rest of his life.

The call fad or quick fix diets are nothing new and have been around for long, long time. They do work for short-term results, want to get into a bikini for the summer. However, the diet industry actually thrives on our failure, because let's face it, if you really succeed in the long term, and not make money with us.

And so, as each new year, again, again we make the decision we're going to lose weight once and for all. We find an exciting "new diet" we want to try, or an ingenious new DVD on the market only. Of course, the failure occurs after a couple of weeks with the diet claiming its place on the shelf to collect dust. That is, until spring arrives, when to try again, so we can look good for the summer.

Instead of doing the same cycles each year, why not go on a "diet" that not only will produce the results you want, but will give you a way of life that is permanent so that the weight is lost and remains off permanently? Why not put things so that you will not have to go to another "diet" again? Metabolism is in fact one of the most important elements in our diet, but many of us do not really understand what that means. So, do these four errors when trying to "diet":

1. Trying to lose weight in a single area. It is known, one can not "spot reduce". All night infomercials hand, if you want to lose fat in the buttocks, you have to lose fat everywhere. Therefore, a total body workout is the key, not the new nifty piece equipment that is (supposedly) going to make thighs look smaller.

Two. Using diet pills to reduce appetite. Diet pills are potentially dangerous, and can drastically decrease metabolism by reducing appetite. Surely you will have weight loss in the short term, but probably also going to sabotage the efforts of long-term weight loss and damage to your health at the same time.

3. Widely reducing calories. By reducing calories widely, cut your metabolism, so you will actually sabotage your weight loss in the long term. You could lose a lot of weight at first, but do not let that fool you, that weight loss is muscle and water, not fat. And because muscle mass is lost when you do that, your metabolism will drop even more, which means we're even less able than before to lose weight. That's because you will not be able to burn calories to the extent that you did before losing all that muscle. And when you go back to eating more calories (as it should, since severely restricted diets do not work for the long term), you will gain all that weight back, and probably more, even if you do not eat more calories.

4. Thinking metabolism be affected by one. Metabolism is not affected by one thing to do. Is affected by how much you sleep, sex, the amount of muscle mass you have, and how old you are, among other things.

If you really want to lose weight and be successful at it, you have to take into account all the above and put it in proper perspective. First, consider your health when it comes to your diet. "Rapid weight loss" fad diets are never going to work for long, so instead, establish a healthy eating plan for you that will support you for the rest of your life, and give you good health .
